Making money should not be your only goal when it comes to starting a blog. Unfortunately, many people start a blog because they want to make money. Many people start a blog just for fun. Many people are enthusiastic about blogging and they are the ones who become successful bloggers. Blogging is their hobby and they regularly update their blogs. So, is blogging a good hobby?

Yes, itβs a bit like writingβitβs mentally de-stressing and allows you to express your thoughtsβbut keep in mind that if you blog, practically everyone will see it, so it depends on what you want to share.
I start well but then I remember why I hated writing essays in school π
My old blog is archived on waybackmachine as often recreate old posts when bring it back

If you love writing, then yeah, it can be a great hobby.
You donβt have to make money with a blog unless you want to. If you just want to do it for fun, then just do it for fun.
But you can do both, too. Have fun while making money.
But just like any business, making money with a blog takes time. Most businesses take 3 to 5 years to show real profit; blogging is no different.

A person must never start a blog with the sole intention of making money. Some blogs make money, while others do not make any money at all. This depends a lot on your type of blog and how much traffic you are generating. This also depends on the source of your traffic as well. Traffic that converts also plays a huge role as well. So, blogging could be a great hobby when done correctly.
Blogging is a very good hobby and if you are enjoying it, it can help you express yourself and learn new things as well. If you start with money as the main goal, there is no way you won't give up midway.
Blogging is a fine hobby if you love writing, but the moment you start expecting instant cash from Adsense, then discouragement will set in because you will only make pennies for a start. But with time, you can start to make reasonable money.
I would never advise someone to start a blog with the only purpose of starting that blog to be making money.
I enjoy writing, and I love writing for the blog I have at the moment, and if I can make some money from that blog, that is great, but that was never my purpose for starting that blog.
If you enjoy writing and you have something you are interested in, blogging can be a good hobby.
I reckon that blogging could be a really great hobby. Initially, blogging may seem really boring because there would be almost no visitor on your blog. However, as the time goes, you will see a good number of people visiting your blog. This will take a lot of time. In fact, it could even take several years. Blogs do not gain popularity overnight. They need a very long time. The same goes for online forums.

But, basically, the only positive or notable thing about it is that more people will end up reading what you write, right? Thatβs about itβyou could just as easily write on social media, though, of course, you wouldnβt be able to write as extensively, as comfortably, or with the same aesthetic appeal as you can on a blog.
I stated blogging as a hobby but when I started seeing revenue, soon I started dreaming bigger, and blogging was no longer a hobby but a profession. These days my blogging income is small but back in the days, I was generating more than 80 percent of my income through blogging. Making money from blogging is becoming difficult but you can certainly try blogging as a hobby
