Postloop Update: New Features & Improvements​

Hi everyone! 👋

Today's Postloop update is built around your feedback. We've made a number of improvements for both writers and site owners to make Postloop clearer and easier to use.

✍️ Updates for Writers

See why you can't reserve yet

If the Reserve posting slots button is unavailable, Postloop will now tell you why directly above the button.

For example, it may be because:

Your application is still waiting for the site owner's approval.
Your community account hasn't been linked yet.
You've already reached today's posting limit.

This should make it much easier to understand what needs to happen before you can reserve work.

Topics or replies — you choose

For connected communities, you can now select Topic or Reply under Content type when reserving work.

Each reservation covers one content type. So, if you want to split your daily allowance, simply make two reservations — for example, 3 replies and 2 topics.

Get listed in the Writer Directory

Approved writers can now appear in the Writer Directory by ticking "Publish my writer profile" in My Profile.

This is completely optional. Being listed can help site owners discover and invite you, but you do not need to publish your profile to join communities or reserve work.

🏠 Updates for Site Owners

Never miss a writer application

When someone applies to join your community, you'll now receive a clear "New writer application" notification and an email.

Your Communities page will also show how many applications are waiting for your attention.

Remember, writers can't reserve paid work until they've been approved, so checking applications regularly can help keep things moving.

New Rating Queue

Thanks to @Gizmo Borden for the suggestion! 🙌

We've added a Needs your rating filter under Work & Reviews.

It shows approved work that you haven't rated yet. Once you rate a post, it will automatically disappear from the list, making it much easier to keep on top of your reviews.

Co-owners

If you run your forum or blog with someone else, you can now add them as a co-owner.

Open your community and use the Co-owners panel to invite another Postloop member by email.

Once they accept, they can:

Approve writers and manage participation.
Review, approve and rate work.
Help fund the community from their own wallet, if they choose to.

How funding works: Your wallet always pays first. A co-owner's wallet is only used after they switch on "Fund this community", and only when your balance can't cover a reservation.

You remain in control of the community listing, its connection and who your co-owners are.

If an official Postloop add-on isn't available for your forum or blog software yet, you can still submit your site to Postloop and receive content. For platforms such as MyBB, phpBB, Flarum, WordPress and other forum or blog software not currently supported by the Postloop add-on, we can review submitted work manually.

Whether you're running a large, established community or a smaller forum that needs more activity, Postloop is designed to help you get conversations going.
