There was a time I was going through so many complaints on my forum and honestly I got tired 😅. Some members just want you to “hear them” but that doesn't solve anything sometimes. I would reply and explain, still they would come back with another angle. I keep wondering if listening too much can even help or it just opens more issues.

Do you think"Listening" is the most important skill for an admin?
Listening is so important for admins. You need to hear your members' concerns. But it doesn't mean you need to agree with everything people say. You can just find a balance.
I agree listening to the members is important. You shouldn't automatically agree to everything, but pick what's best. Also, some claim to listen, but they fail to act, and it feels like the voice of the members is left unheard. So, there needs to be a balance.
I’m good at listening to people.
I’m good at being a shoulder to cry on.
I’m good at talking people out of doing stupid things.
I’m not good at talking to others when I’m down. I’m good at bottling all that up. In fact, I have 42 years of experience doing just that. Luckily, my fitness and writing get that out, so all is good.
But anyways, I’m good at listening, so I try to do that when I can.

I would say that listening is one of the most important skills as an admin. I don’t think I could ever be an admin who does not listen to my community and the issues they may bring up.
Sometimes as an admin, you will have a divide within your community, and you need to be able to listen to each opinion from your community members to be able to make a decision that makes everyone happy.
If you are not someone who likes to listen and understand others, being an admin may not be for you.
No, the most important skill for an administrator is knowing how to manage.
