Do You Have Financial Security?

Well, what exactly is financial security? Financial security means you have enough money to cover all necessities (food, rent, mortgages, fuel, bills, etc.), you have a sufficient emergency fund, you can spend without stress like going on vacations whenever you want without worrying about money, you have a saving, investment portfolio, and multiple income sources. Achieving this level of security, however, is not easy.

My husband is close to retirement, so yes, we’re financially secure because we’ve been saving since we were in our 20s for this time. We have good investments (made some bad ones in the past that lost thousands of dollars, eek), but we’re okay now.

If am being honest, i am still very far from having financial security, and like you said it's not really easy, i am still pushing though and i believe i will get there.

Financial security in Nigeria has a different meaning. The thing is, when you can pay rent, buy food, and save some money, you have done well for yourself, even more than many people.
