AI is good at this one if you don’t want to do it yourself.

If you want to skip AI, I recommend this:

I recommend keeping them blunt and short. Only add rules that really matter.

If you’re too strict, they’ll skip your forum and go somewhere that is less strict, like social media.

Strict forums have no place online anymore.

Trail Running Forum - A forum dedicated to trail running, gear, training, and more.

I would certainly take the help of AI in order to create great forum rules. However, I would NOT copy or paste all those forum rules. I would use ChatGPT in order to get an idea about what forum rules should look like. This is a very important thing. Apart from that, I may need to create forum rules related to the niche of my forum. Administrators should use holistic methods when it comes to creating high-quality forum rules.

I always start with the basic rules, the ones I know are necessary for forums, and that should be within the forum rules for the niche of my forum and that usually gives me a base to work on as I open the forum and the forum builds up.

Once I start getting activity and I start seeing a need for more rules as members use the forum, I will then add on and announce the changes.

As long as you make sure that you state you have the right to change the rules and make additions at any time, that always covers your back.
