I’ve taken a look at Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story and given my thoughts on the latest season, including the story, performances, returning Monster cast members, and some of the major historical liberties the series takes.
The review also looks at Sarah Paulson’s portrayal of Aileen Wuornos, the fictionalised relationship between Lizzie Borden and Bridget “Maggie” Sullivan, and why I actually wish the Wuornos storyline had either been explored further or saved for its own season.
Despite the historical inaccuracies, I found the season really entertaining, with some fantastic performances and plenty to keep things interesting.
