Hey everyone! I'm the creator of Pokemon World, and I'd love to share the game with fellow Pokemon and anime fans.

Pick your first partner, step into a colorful world, and start building a team that feels like yours. Pokemon World is a fan-made, free-to-play browser MMO: no download is needed, and you can begin as a guest before creating an account to save your progress.

What can you do?

• Explore Pokemon regions and search for wild encounters.

• Catch, train, and evolve your team.

• Take on gym battles and challenge other trainers in PvP.

• Hatch eggs, hunt for shinies, and work on your collection.

Before getting invested, what will you be doing once you get a DMCA and have to shut down? Pokemon/Gamefreak/Nintendo’s notorious for shutting down even the smallest things that IP infringe so I’m curious as to if you have a backup plan or not. Will you simply just be shutting down, or are you planning on using your own assets eventually and rebrand it with new creatures, or something else completely? Not to be a debby downer, I’m just wanting to see if there’s a plan for the future before I personally invest my time into something. I know PokeMMO has been up for 10+ years (That’s how old my account is) and it’s because they’re hosted in a country without IP infringement laws I’m fairly sure which is why they’ve gotten away with keeping it up lol, so I’m curious on your end 🥰

It looks good, but I hope Nintendo doesn’t shut it down. As @Sherlock Bones, I’d say it would be cool to change the domain name while keeping everything in the game the same.

I didn’t even think of that when I replied to their thread on another forum. :V Yeah Nintendo isn’t like Sega, they don’t typically allow fan made games and once it gets super popular I’m sure they’ll take this website down. It’s a shame since I love Pokemon I don’t like Nintendo as a company though.

Or at least recreate your own version of everything and then when you inevitably get a DMCA you can swap everything so you’re not using their IP. I’d plan ahead and have a domain on lock, let people know if it ever gets taken down you’ll be switching over to that. That way you’re ahead of the game, and can go live without too much hassle. Heck, use your demo site as that and start slowly working on replacing everything with your own characters, assets, etc.

Can't you post a screenshot so we can see what the game looks like? Is it like the typical Pokémon RPGs on GBA, NDS, etc.? If so, I’d love it; I’ve always played the official Pokémon RPGs but never a fan-made one—though I’m sure a fan-made game would have a lot more love put into it and be more polished than the originals.
