I remember seeing really bad reviews for the 2022 Lightyear movie—which is exactly why I’m asking. I haven't seen it yet because all the negative stuff I read totally put me off. Plus, it isn't even based on the classic animated series Buzz Lightyear of Star Command; I would have loved a movie based on that, but clearly, they aren't going to do it. So, since I haven't watched it, I want to know your opinion if you have: is it actually a piece of crap, or are the critics just haters and the movie is actually good?

Unfortunately. I just dislike the way Buzz looks compared to Toy Story. Why couldn’t they have just come up with an original idea of a spaceman?

They wanted to make it look realistic; if you compare it to Toy Story, you clearly won't like it at all—it lacks that pleasant cartoonish look. But what about the plot? Aside from the visuals, everyone complained that the story was garbage.

Was this a prequel more or less when Buzz was a space ranger?
