I keep my phone for 3 to 4 years before I can even think of upgrading it. I do not see a reason to upgrade every year when the difference between models are very little and price is extremely high. Moreso, it doesn't make sense financially to buy a new when the one I am using still does the work. My current phone is up to 2 years and it's still working good.

Right now, I have had the current phone I have for 2 years, and I am starting to realise I may need to upgrade, but that is mostly because I play more mobile games than I used to when I purchased this phone, and with each update of the games I play, it becomes more intensive on my phone.
In the past, before I was playing more mobile games, it would be around 3 - 4 years before I needed a new phone.
I go through phases of wanting to upgrade my tech, but at the moment I’m holding strong with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. No need to upgrade. I was considering switching to the Google Pixel but too much work. So…. lol

It depends on whether something has broken or not, but generally it’s every 4 to 6 years. However, since technology is advancing so rapidly, I might replace it sooner—within 2 to 3 years, or perhaps 2 to 4 years. Technology moves so fast that it wouldn’t surprise me if a smartphone became unusable in a short amount of time; in any case, that’s typically the timeframe in which I end up replacing it.
I am not someone that changes my smartphones because I just feel like changing it. I always change my smartphones when it can no longer serve what I need in a smartphone. I typically always use my smartphones for five years before I change it.
Smartphones usually have a lifespan of two to three years, though I used my last smartphone for around six years before changing it.
I keep my phone until I physically need to upgrade it. Most of the time you’re looking at 5+ years. I get the best of the best whenever I need to upgrade and then I keep that until I cannot use it comfortably anymore. This will be my last phone I think though. I believe I am done with having a phone plan and will be canceling to be honest!

So, you literally hold onto your smartphone until its very last days—lol—until the screen won’t turn on anymore. If it still turns on, it’s still good; end of story. 😂
As long as it works, I will keep it.
