What makes a good forum community?

When I look at a community, I tend to look for things like activity, how friendly the staff are, and how friendly the community is.

A good community often comes from feeling welcomed and like you belong within that community, where you can join a community as a new member and instantly feel like you are really part of the community rather than just a ‘newbie’.

I support this. The warm feeling that you belong in a community and you are welcomed is the exact reason to stay. It’s what I feel here. Everyone is kind, we actively participate in discussions, and I feel like I’ve made new friends. And as a staff member myself, I always strive to nurture a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
