Home gym is winning because it makes a big difference and it doesn't cost anything. I don't have to transport myself and I can exercise anytime, even at midnight. But the only thing is that there are distractions at home sometimes. Traditional gyms will offer you the needed equipment variety, and the community might encourage you to keep pushing, but you need to pay a monthly subscription. So, I get the same result for free at home.

Home gym setup vs. traditional gym membership: which keeps you more consistent
Equipment is pretty expensive and you need a lot of space to fit it all. Although, If you stay consistent, it will pay off over time. And I would find it easier to commit - you wouldn’t need to travel and do all that unnecessary stuff, you would have all the comfort at home. I can get a discounted membership for one of the best gyms in my city but I still have to factor in the cost of travelling to the gym itself which, by the way, is insanely high nowadays. Also I need to prepare proper food before and after training.
I have tried both, and I can conclude that home workout is not as effective as going to the gym. The gym has effective machines that I can make use of and will make the workouts more efficient.
Also, if I paid I would not want to allow the money to waste. So I would want to go often.
I can achieve great results working out at home with just a pair of dumbbells and some good cardio; plus, it helps me stay consistent because I can focus entirely on the workout without distractions, and I can play whatever music I want in the background to keep me motivated.
I used to be really consistent with the gym and would go every other day! I even had a PT session every Tuesday morning which I loved because having that set appointment kept me accountable 😂 But life just got busier and busier though and eventually the gym was one of those things that slipped 🙈 I definitely preferred going to an actual gym though. Once I was there, I was there to exercise. At home I'd find 101 other things that apparently needed doing first 😂 These days I get plenty of walking in with the dog 🐶 I've got a kettlebell, resistance bands and a skipping rope at home that I'll use as and when I fancy it. Nothing quite as organised as my old gym routine though haha lol
For me, it's a home gym. It's basically free, and on days I'm not able to use it due to a busy schedule or an emergency, I don’t have to worry about my subscription being wasted.
I would always prefer traditional gym membership. This is due to the fact that traditional gym might offer many other benefits that you cannot get at home. Traditional gym offers exceptional experience. You tend to meet new people at the gym. You could even avail the services of trainers as well at the gym. Apart from that, you may receive more guidance about diet choices. Traditional gyms may also offer additional health programs as well that might be worth considering.

Plus, you don't have to deal with anyone; you do everything at your own pace, in your own way, with your own music and atmosphere. It’s much better if you really want to focus and get good results—though, of course, it requires discipline, which I’m sure you have, just like me.
Some years ago, I had a gym membership subscription and it was really a good experience. But right now, I workout only at home.

Yes that's true, there is no pressure from anyone or others judging you.

Do you have any equipment at home? Having access to the required equipment to workout properly is the main reason people get a gym membership. It can be pretty expensive buying it at once instead of paying just a gym membership on a monthly basis.

Sure a home gym makes a big difference, but a traditional gym member or having one in your neighborhood tends to offer a better workout. Gym weights are quite expensive as well, and you’ll be able to train a lot better in an actual gym. I am grateful that I have a gym inside my apartment complex, I actually used weights before in my house, but I definitely prefer working out in an actual gym. I’ve been able to get more toned and lost a lot of weight inside a regular gym over a home gym.
