Working on my own blog

I’ve started developing my own blog software.

It’s actually a way to teach myself programming. So, it will be a slow process for sure.

If I realize I like doing it, I might invent new blog software to start using and get away from WordPress.

A good custom in-house blogging software sounds pretty cool.

I might even offer it open-source, as well.

Trail Running Forum - A forum dedicated to trail running, gear, training, and more.

I’ll definitely help test it out when it’s at that stage 😄

PopFuse – Your hub for movies, TV shows, music, gaming, celebrities, and pop culture.

Community Interviews – Get to know the people behind online communities through interviews.

Bingely – Your blog for movies, TV shows, reviews, and entertainment news.

Gizmo Network – Where chaos meets creativity! Explore forums, websites, and creative projects.

I hope you will be able to create something useful and something unique. if you offer your software as an open source, I am certain you will get a lot of users. I am certainly interested in trying your software, maybe you could add a feature that makes easy to transfer out from wordpress

Hey bro,

I see your up to something special.

It would be great if your software could allocate for more than one blog per user. That would be a game changer. Just a suggestion. I’ll definitely give it a try. Keep us posted. I just recently made a brand new blog for myself & its buzzing. Best of luck!

I too would help test it out when you get to that point. I too am working on my own project that will contain custom blog application, forums, courses, point systems, eventually virtual store. I’m building it all from scratch, the front end and back end. It’s not easy to do so I applaud anyone willing to take that jump, especially to learn a new skill!

I would love to go thru with a project like that - but the problem is that I couldn’t be so sure it would be successful - either commercially or even to give away - even if it was high quality.

Mainly doing it to learn for my own knowledge rather than trying to get something out of it from other people.

@Shawn - I reckon that this is a really cool thing. Do you plan to launch your blogging software in the market? Creating or building your own blogging software is not an easy thing to do. You need good knowledge related to coding and stuff. Creating a blogging software could also mean that you may need to create an entire CMS system such as Weebly. So, are you building such kind of software?

That's an ambitious project. You need to have a sound knowledge in programming to do that. WordPress is common but having a custom software can be better if you have the needed skills to create it.

I have seen WordPress and I think that it is a good CMS platform. In many cases, I think that it might be even better than Blogger or Blogspot. I have been considering using NameCheap for some time as of now due to the fact that it has a built-in website creator. What re your thoughts about NameCheap? It is really an awesome platform?
